Your application will be processed upon receipt, and you will begin receiving the membership benefits outlined below instantly!
Information, government affairs, continuing education, networking, and professional recognition, and client exposure to the hearing impaired are the cornerstones of THAA membership benefits. THAA members receive all of the following benefits for only $140 per year.
Information
Your membership includes access to all industry information through this web site and other electronic and paper transmissions forwarded to members throughout the year. As a THAA member, you will receive email updates on current events, reminders of important industry and association dates and deadlines, detailed explanations of regulatory issues affecting your license that allow you to remain in compliance with state laws and regulations governing your profession, updates on bills before the Texas Legislature that could affect your license and your livelihood, analysis of legislation, and instructions on how to become involved in the legislative and regulatory process. THAA is your lifeline to information about the Texas dispensing industry.
Government Affairs
Most of your membership dues go to pay for representation of licensed dispensers before the Texas Legislature, the State Licensing Committee For Fitters and Dispensers of Hearing Instruments, and other state regulatory agencies that affect the hearing instrument industry and licensed dispensers. THAA maintains a full staff and lobby team who monitor and track all legislative and regulatory proposals affecting the membership, and coordinate efforts to protect the members in the political arena.
Continuing Education
THAA provides 20 hours of continuing education each year. All of these hours are approved by the Texas Department of State Health Services for license renewal. Five of these hours are provided to members free of charge. Members can also attend the annual Southwest Regional Trade Show where they see the latest in products and services available from all the top manufacturers and suppliers in the industry.
Networking
One very important reason for joining THAA is to meet other dispensers and suppliers. Networking will teach you more about your profession than any other educational tool available. THAA is your opportunity to meet others in the Texas hearing aid industry who can help you in your daily business. The association's annual convention, CE programs, social events, and other membership meetings are specifically designed to get members together to discuss problems and issues. The industry contacts you make through THAA will prove invaluable over the years.
Professional Recognition
Membership in THAA includes a membership certificate to display in your office - free of charge. The professionally designed certificate verifies the dispenser is a member of the only professional organization solely representing licensed dispensers in the State of Texas. In addition, the association honors one of its members each year with the coveted THAA Dispenser of the Year Award. The award is given to the licensed dispenser who practices the highest standard of ethics when serving the hearing impaired of Texas.
Client Exposure
Finding qualified licensed dispensers can be difficult for the hearing impaired. Your listing on this site is invaluable exposure to public members seeking your professional services. Each THAA member has their name and business location listed three times on this site - by last name, by city, and by company name. These listings are available to the public by simply clicking on FIND A DISPENSER in the upper right corner of the home page. Your THAA member listing puts you up front when it comes to potential clients seeking licensed professionals to help them with their impaired hearing.
All of these benefits are available to you for only $140 per year. Join today and begin enhancing your professional career as a licensed hearing instrument dispenser.
