In the world of hearing care, as owners, managers, and employees, we have 3 primary assets that need to be protected: time, money, and happy patients. In this course, we’ll discuss how to use automation to protect and grow these assets through easily implementable automation technology. You’ll learn how to create more margin in your practice and in your life in this informative session.

Speaker: Dusty Potter, BC-HIS

Speaker Bio: Dusty Potter, BC-HIS was born in Wichita Falls, Texas, where his mother was a local hearing aid specialist. However, he did not spend his childhood imagining a future as a hearing aid dispenser. Instead, he fell in love with music and dreamed of being a rock star. After graduating from high school in Wichita Falls, he chose to follow his love for music at Midwestern State University. He spent two years as a music education major, focusing on trombone and a future as a band director and music teacher.

He entered the hearing care field when he moved back to Texas in 2002, serving as an apprentice under his mother. He soon passed the state licensing exam and later began working under Mark Brumback of Hearing Aid Express, who would become his long-time professional mentor. He later opened his own practice in 2007. Over the next decade, he grew his business to a peak of 22 locations. Additionally, frustrated and challenged by the options of management software for his practice, he developed an office management system for hearing care practices (amplifyOMS) and later also started a marketing agency (Ear Level Marketing) that serves hearing care practices and a number of other businesses. Today he runs his dispensing practice and two satellite locations, his hearing care management software business, and his digital marketing and web development business—and he and his wife are parent to three college-age sons. He’s also a member of the TDLR Hearing Instrument Fitters and Dispensers Advisory Board. Throughout, his primary hobby has remained true to his love for music. He continues to play both guitar and bass, and is in three or four local bands, depending on the time of year.
